GAINING A DEEPER SELF-AWARENESS IS THE FIRST STEP IN LEADERSHIP

Our Individual Readiness Program is a tailored program for participants to gain a further understanding about themselves.  The leadership model we have developed for our leadership courses refers to ‘Know thy self’ as the first step.  Hence why all of our courses have one or more of the below psychometric introductions embedded in them.

We have developed this program as an independent offering as well, given its importance to working with others.  The three psychometric assessments we offer each assess different parts of your personality, so they can be tailored to fit anyone, no matter what stage of life or career they are at.

Our Corporate Commander facilitators are certified practitioners with each of the instruments and can deliver the debriefing sessions individually or in a group setting; face to face or remotely.

CHOOSE FROM AN EXTENSIVE LIST OF INSTRUMENTS

FIRO-B AND FIRO-BUSINESS

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation assessment introduces the fundamental interpersonal needs of a person.  It deals with how we relate to others and what needs we need from others.  It provides a simple framework which is easy to understand, but one that is deeply powerful.  More information can be found here: FIRO-B

The FIRO report is available in both an individual behaviour format or FIRO-Business; great for organisations and larger groups to gain an understanding on how team members interact with each other.

Outcomes:

  • What drives our interpersonal behaviours with others?
  • How interpersonal behaviours can impact on our overall energy.
  • Manage interpersonal relations to minimise friction and optimise individual and team performance.
  • As leaders, manage our interpersonal relations to minimise the risk of personal fatigue and burn-out.

Group discounts are available for groups over 6 and any participant who undertakes the FIRO-B as part of the IRP will gain credit and a discounted rate toward the Next Gen Program.

CONFLICT DYNAMICS PROFILE

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Did you know that conflict can be both destructive and constructive?  Inter-personal conflict in our lives is inevitable, but how we handle it can be the difference between ineffective, even harmful outcomes or a productive and positive outcome for all parties.  At the individual professional level, poor conflict management (destructive behaviours) can very quickly and easily lead to career derailment.  At the organisational level, poor conflict management can be an enormous waste of time and resources, while leaving potential value locked up.

The Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP), an instrument measuring conflict behaviors, is an excellent resource to increase self-awareness and improve conflict management skills. The CDP is unlike any other assessment tool in that it focuses specifically on conflict behaviors, rather than styles. It helps individuals and teams understand how they respond to conflict, what triggers can escalate conflict, and how to manage conflict more effectively. More information can be found here: CDP

The CDP is available as an individual instrument (CDP-I) and an individual + 360 feedback version (CDP-360).  A group report for teams completing the CDP is also available.

Outcomes:

  • Ability to identify individual and/or team responses to conflict.
  • Identify triggers (“hot buttons”) that lead to and escalate conflict.
  • Insights into how to manage conflict at a personal level and avoid career “de-railers”.
  • Understanding of organisational expectations (CDP-360)

Group discounts are available for groups over 6 and any participant who undertakes the CDP as part of the IRP will gain credit and a discounted rate toward the Next Gen Program.

MYERS-BRIGGS PERSONALITY TYPE INDICATOR

The MBTI instrument is the best known and most trusted personality assessment on the market.  It identifies the personality type of an individual, made up of four basic preferences, and provides a positive framework to explain how we interact with the world and each other.  More information can be found here: MBTI

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step I (MBTI Step I) is one of the most widely used instruments for building self-awareness in individuals about how they perceive and interact with the world.  It is used to optimise both individual and team performance and can be used as a framework for considering individual behaviours with respect to stress, conflict, change management and communication as just a few examples.

The MBTI Step I is the foundation of the MBTI instrument, providing participants with the their overall MBTI Type.

Outcomes:

  • Understanding of individual behaviour preferences (MBTI type).
  • How our preferences may lead to particular personal or workplace behaviours.
  • How our preferences may determine how we optimally perceive data and how this should be considered when communicating to others.
  • Where frictions and synergies may develop between individuals and teams with different MBTI type.
  • How behaviour preferences may manifest under stress (being “in the grip”).

Group discounts are available for groups over 6 and any participant who undertakes the MBTI as part of the IRP will gain credit and a discounted rate toward the Next Gen Program.

CCL BENCHMARKS FOR MANAGERS (360 FEEDBACK)

The CCL Benchmarks 360 instrument systemically collects direct feedback from co-workers, peers, direct reports, managers and manager’s peers as well as external stakeholders. Both qualitative and quantitative feedback is collected, with the latter benchmarked against the nominated reference group e.g. middle manager, executive etc. This feedback is very powerful but can also be very confronting and should be treated with caution.

We recommend it only for managers who are prepared to take their professional development to the next level, preferably after having completed a more self‑reflective instrument first e.g. FIRO.  It is also possible to prepare overall group reports e.g. for a management team.  More information on the CCL Benchmarks Suite is available: here

Outcomes:

  • Direct comparison between actual performance and desired performance.
  • Individual/Organisation specific feedback e.g. factors for success in an individual’s organisation.
  • Identify individual management strengths and weaknesses.

Group discounts are available for groups over 6 and any participant who undertakes a self-awareness instrument as part of the IRP will gain credit and a discounted rate toward the Next Gen Program.

CCL SKILLSCOPE (360 FEEDBACK)

The CCL Skillscope instrument is a 360 feedback tool.  It is comparable to the CCL Benchmarks for Managers but has a more compact and easily accessible form and is more applicable to frontline managers and early career professionals.  Raters provide 360 feedback on participants strengths & development needs against a set of key management competencies. More information on this instrument is available: here

Outcomes:

  • Direct comparison between actual performance and desired performance.
  • Individual/Organisation specific feedback e.g. factors for success in an individual’s organisation.
  • Early identification of individual strengths and weaknesses to provide the best opportunity for to reflect and guide development planning.

Group discounts are available for groups over 6 and any participant who undertakes a self-awareness instrument as part of the IRP will gain credit and a discounted rate toward the Next Gen Program.

GROUP OPTIONS AVAILABLE

If you have a group of like-minded individuals or a business team, we highly recommend undertaking the assessment in the group format.  This is because it allows our facilitators to draw out the varied experience and perspective of participants.  When we workshop the instrument’s concepts and outcomes through instruction, activities and reflection, the outcomes are more powerful.  This provides a richer participant experience overall and can be customised to specific teams & organisations.  All of our group workshops included a one-on-one debriefing session for each individual, as well as the group experience.
